Hoi An, Vietnam

Having got off the plane in the morning, and met our custom’s agent with a gruff nod in Danang Airport. We were met by the kindest hired driver who drove us into Hoi An, were we would be staying for 10 days.

The first stop, find food, which was a rather humorous story. Nothing was open, except for the corner store, which was really a store in the middle of a family kitchen. We grabbed noodles, water, and whatever fun stuff we could find.

This is actually one of my favourite things to do when I first visit a country, I simply have to go grocery shopping, and in Vietnam it came in many forms!

After we caught up with food, checking in, and oops, falling asleep at 2 in the afternoon. We then woke up at 2 a.m the next morning to a hungry 6 year old! All good, we had noodles, and a t.v!

Instead of going right for the touring, we headed to the beach early in the morning.

Beach

The sand was soft, the water was cool, but it was spectacular! We met lost of great people, and there were so many kids for our son to interact and play with, even if they didn’t speak the same language.

All along the beach, there are fabulous restaurants set up, no shoes necessary, and lounging is a must. The food was, well, absolutely fabulous. We sat finishing a beer, while our son happily played in the sand below under our watchful eye.

I highly recommend the Hmong Sisters, the food was great, the setup was so comfortable between the umbrellas on the beach to the lounge open spaces under the shade. The service, well, I don’t think there is such thing as bad service in Vietnam, it is all friendly, fabulous, and kid friendly!

Happy Friday,
